3/4 Bath time

as I mentioned in my last post, Dear Hubby has done what we lovingly refer to as "found a bird" and has gone from working on my pantry to getting the 3/4 bath installed. LOOK! A Bird! Those of you who are ADD/ADHD, or who live with someone who is, will get that one. Anywho, here's where we've come from:

looking into what will someday be a 3/4 bath

storage space during construction of the rest of the kitchen

looking into bath from what is now my partially finished pantry

still a storage place

found this sink at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore!

The Boy being, well, The Boy...the shower doesn't really work yet, he got his shirt wet giving the dogs a bath - MUCH appreciated by mama!

I LOVE this, DH installed this behind the bathroom door...

it "hides" the toilet scrubber and plunger!

light over sink installed

the switch for said light needs to be installed as does the one for the fan

trim needs to be installed and I know just the guy to do it!

he'll use the old stuff first, what he can anyway

There he is! Working on the trim...of course the predicted high is "only" 97 degrees today, and since the garage isn't big enough to do this king of work in, he has to set up in the driveway, which means as soon as the sun is directly overhead that'll be the end of work for today. Someday soon my one bath house will be a one and 3/4 bath!

We have trim and a pantry - well sort of

My last post, You've Come a Long Way Baby, was many months ago and some progress has been made since then. We didn't have trim.  Dear Hubby took this

and turned it into trim

TA DA! We have trim!

Now my sweet Dear Hubby is on to another project because the pantry hasn't quite turned out the way he had hoped and he's going to have to pull a mulligan on it...here's pics of the pantry...in the building stage

fridge moving day

I took vacation today and tomorrow to get my house back in some sort of order...

Here was my goal:
to get all this stuff moved into the kitchen, but I have to leave room for the guys to work on the electricity Saturday...yes, Saturday I'm going to have the electric hooked up in the kitchen...yes, Saturday is the tailgate party...it'll be what it'll be....

here's what the view looked like at the end of the day:

it doesn't look like much but we really did get stuff done.  The fridge got moved, since it's on a difference circuit than the ovens, stove top, microwave and countertop it could be hooked up immediately after the move...that was a big deal...it had to be emptied first - amazing what gets lost in there and how dirty it can get in just six months...

I realized once again that we don't do very well at eating left overs...why do we bother putting them in containers? We're only delaying the inevitable...

then Dear Hubby and The Boy had to move the fridge...Dear Hubby measured the clearance several times before this day got here, he assured me the fridge would get to it's end spot - with a little effort...
he told The Boy not to let go, just as The Boy let go of the dolly...Dear Hubby was launched up a bit...

woohoo!!!!  We have a fridge in the kitchen again!

One last thing...

Dear Hubby got the bar top cut and installed and ready for tile!

backsplash and floor

Here's what Dear Hubby accomplished today:

cork floor installed!

backsplash!

still a lot to do, but we've come a long way baby!

The countdown is on!

Here's what Dear Hubby got done today:

Backsplash is cut and ready to attach to the wall..and something had to be done to the wall so the paint job is messed up - he says it's "no big deal"...

floor got patched - which means my floor can be installed (tomorrow maybe?!)

I have no clue why that crow bar is there...

the cabinet for the double oven is now installed - which should mean I get my ovens installed soon, right?

sheetrock was hung in the new 3/4ish bath too...that means that the sheetrock that was in the walkway into the kitchen (because that is where sheetrock is supposed to be stored) is now gone, which means the fridge can be moved out of the dining room (another logical place for cold food storage) into the kitchen - as soon as the floor is installed.  Today is the 12th, the OSU/TU football game was the goal I gave Dear Hubby to have me a functional kitchen when he started the tear out back in March.  The OSU/TU football game is this Saturday, the 17th, and the word is out that we're having a tailgate party...the countdown is on!!
